The Redfield Solar Project will generate approximately 200 jobs when it is under construction. The Chief Executive of Treaty Oak, Christopher Elrod, was ecstatic about the project. In an interview, he stated, “We’re excited to get started with this project and join the Grant County community. It’ll bring jobs and property tax money, but it will also do much more to make Arkansas ‘All of the Above’ energy state.”.

To engage with local residents, the company will also be holding a job fair and open house Thursday evening, October 24, 6 to 8:30 p.m., at The Ridge at Little Creek, 1915 Rock St. in Sheridan, where representatives from the company will be on hand to answer questions and provide project information, including construction timelines and details of the solar facility.

The facility will become available to recruit heavy equipment operators, solar installers, mechanical, civil, and electrical laborers, helpers, journeymen, and electricians. After the facility opens, two to three technicians will be needed for its daily operation and maintenance.

According to Greg Karney, Vice president of construction at Treaty Oak, “We estimate that construction, scheduled to begin later in this year, will take about 16 to 18 months. We are excited to provide good paying high quality jobs to the local workforce, and we expect this added economic activity to benefit the local economy.”
